Introduction to Therapy Dog
In January 2007, a unique theory was introduced by British BBC broadcast: “If you wish to live a long and healthy life, you should have a dog.”
According to British psychologist Depola Werls, people who keep dogs live healthy and long lives. If you talk to dogs when you’re feeling down or anxious, they will silently cuddle and listen to you. At times, their ability to read your emotions is thought to be higher than human’s.
In America, therapy dogs are a common thing to see in hospitals, nursing homes for the elderly, and places where children gather. In Japan, however, therapy dogs are not that popular. Mr. Ooki Toru, a musician and the president of the International Therapy Dog Association, introduced the concept of therapy dogs in Japan.
At our clinic, you will be welcomed by a labrador and a retriever that were trained by Mr. Ooki himself.
